offline selling is a key factor to look at while choosing a point of sale system for your business especially if your location suffers frequent blackouts or network issues. such issues are addressed by seekerspark.com as your point of sale system.

OFFLINE SELLING
To some this is only possible if you are using the locally hosted POS system. Seekerspark.com is a CLOUDBASED REALTIME POINT OF SALE system that is capable of selling i hybrid situations; both ONLINE and OFFLINE.
For online selling, normal protocal of uninterpted internet connectivity is required for a smooth process. The interesting part comes in offline sales: here we dont necessarily need the internet connection for at least 72hrs or 3 days. smooth selling continues without internet for an authorized device.

What normal devices see incase of an internet disruption:

What unauthorized devices trying to access the POINT OF SALE System see:

The question now comes to, How do i authorize a device to enjoy Offline selling? that shall be covered. stay tuned. lets first understand how selling works while offline.

For seekerspark, each registered business gets a single FREE offline terminal PER BRANCH. So selling does not stop irregardless of internet outrages and some extent even power blackout because rechargeable devices e.g. Phones, laptops or handheld pos devices connected as the offline terminals will continue to operate until normal operations are restored.
Is that an advantage to a business? Yes. Customer traffic is rerouted to the cashier point that is operation, sales are not lost and all customer walk home attended to.

Are the Offline Sales safe? How do they reflect as normal sales records in the main business record?

Upon device disconnection from our main servers, provided the authorized device was logged in for an update, the device is already tagged with a mechanis that allows it to have pulled business inventory that is then used as offline sales records to serve the clients.
this happens to every single device that is authorized and from any branch. Business continues as usual.
The device can stay disconnected for upto 72hours or the equivalence of 3 days from the time of disconnection.

After the time lapses, the device forces the handler to reconnect to internet for a new pre-offline authorization. At the same point the data is synchronized to the main server where the business/branch sales are updated and normal records are updated.

Can unauthorized devices sell or transmit data?

The Answer is NO. Every device needs to be whitelisted by the business managment and the system assigns it the unique indentifier for the offline meechanisms to work.

What if a business needs more terminals? That is possible, a business can buy more offline terminals as per their need. The PURCHASED terminals are transferrable from one branch to another incase a business feel the need to move the offline services to a different station/branch or they close down a particular branch. The how shall is covered in the article: How do i authorize a device to enjoy Offline selling?
